Promoting Bluegrass and Old Tyme music for over 30 years

Our goal is simply that - to encourage bluegrass musicians to keep on pickin, to encourage anyone interested in bluegrass to learn how to play it or simply listen to it, to spread awareness to the Texas Panhandle that there exists a pure, sweet form of acoustic music which is highly enjoyable and is full of rich history and traditions.

Our rules are simple - enjoy Bluegrass. Bluegrass is all acoustic. The only instrument that we feel might need to be amplified is an electric bass, and that is only in the absence of a double bass (bass fiddle).

Membership is $15 per year, and covers the entire family (2 votes per family max). You can sign up at a meeting or use our online signup form (coming soon).
Bluegrass Festivals

The PBOMA started out about thirty years ago by creating a bluegrass festival in Mobeetie, TX. The festival was a huge success, and grew for the next 20 years. At some point, the Old Mobeetie Association expressed the desire to organize the festival, therefore the PBOMA started a festival in Tulia, TX. This festival has gone on for about 10 years, and has featured some of the hottest bands from the surrounding area.

We are currently debating moving the festival closer to Amarillo, for financial reasons. If you have an opinion about this, please attend a meeting.
Helping Musicians and Listeners Network

We have assisted many people in locating a band to play for their event, finding potential bandmates, and finding friends interested in Bluegrass. If you are interested in Bluegrass related fellowship, this is the organization for you.
